2018 - Jan 11 - First ride of the year on my Look 695 - rode out old Gap Creek to 5 mile mark and turned around; a leisurely ten miler. Solo ride.
Feb 9 - Second ride of the year and got in a good 20 miler, again a solo ride out toward Unicoi past Wisemans; took Milligan hwy and Okolona but had a head wind all the way to the ten mile mark, but had a nice tail wind on the way back; nice ride except for this blasted cough I still have. Allergist started me on Breo for 6 weeks to see if that will clear it up.
Feb 15 - Don and I left Grace church and rode out Antioch, to old Embreeville road, to Greenwood, to 81 and out to store by hwy 107, took a break there, turned around and rode back via Greenwood, etc. Very windy ride.
Feb 20 - Don & I rode from my house out old Gap Creek road to 19E then up aways and back home via Hampton and State Line road - great 20 miler, considering the beautiful weather.
Feb 22 - Don and I rode out Milligan hwy to Okolona then to S Roan out to Unicoi just past Sciotta and turned around and back home.
Feb 24 - Rode solo to new Gap Creek, 19E to Simerly Creek, out almost to Limestone Cove, turned around and back 19E and old Gap Creek road, whew, 31 rocking miles - listening to some great music.
Feb 27 - Rode solo to new Gap Creek, 19E to Simerly Creek, turned around there and back via Hampton - great 25 miler.
Mar 16 - Rode solo to new Gap Creek, old Gap Creek & home. A good 11 miler considering this is my first March ride.
March 26 - Today, rode the Colnago from home up G street and over to State Line road, horrible headwind the whole time so turned around at five mile mark and got only ten miles in today, but at least able to get out for which I am thankful for.
March 29 - Rode up G street and over to Hampton via State Line road and Hampton to Gap Creek road turnoff; turned around there and back home same way for a good 21 miler.
April 3 - Don and I rode from home up new Gap Creek road and over to 19E, up to Simerly Creek road and over to 1st church on right, turned around there and back home via Hampton (19E), State Line road and G street for a good 29 miler.
April 12 - Don and I met @ Grace and went over to Greenwood via old Embreeville road and got on 81 and rode over to store just off 107 and rode loop behind store then back 81, Greenwood, Antioch and back to Grace. Beautiful day for a 22 miler.
May 8 - Rode solo out old Gap Creek for around 5 miles and turned around and rode back home; had heartburn the whole ride.
May 20 - Rode solo out to Milligan hwy and over to Okolona and up to S Roan and out almost to Unicoi; turned arond there and back home same way.
May 23 - Don and I rode out old Gap Creek road to 19E, then up to Simerly Creek for couple more miles - came back home via Hampton, etc. Great ride for a 26 miler - previously got in a couple miles on the Colnago, trying out the new handlebar stem.
May 25 - Rode solo out to Hampton, then Simerly Creek, then to Unicoi, and Limestone Cove to Okolona, Milligan hwy, and back home - great 36 miler & 3 hour ride.
May 31 - Rode solo out old Gap Creek to Big Springs road, climbed up it and over new hwy to other part of Big Springs and took this to Powder Branch, rode it to end and turned left to Laurels, and then straight on up to Dry Creek and left at end to Gap Creek and back home - good 20 miler.

“Eureka” he shouted to himself. He’s got it; or at least he’s got the gist of it. He can always fill the rest in later as he goes, but he’s got the penultimate goal at least. He would not share this with Bev, at least not yet, not until he has tested it and knows it will work as he hopes it would. “How long has it taken him to arrive at this?”, he mused. It would have to have been years, no decades. But now it did not matter if finally, it had all come together. He would get started at once, or once he got home and got situated. Did he even remember the dreams of instructions he received or was it all well, just a dream? He thought about the implications of what this all meant, both to him and his wife, Beverly. He knew he had already passed the could he would he should he phases that plagued his thinking for weeks, so the will was there and the means, if you could call it that. Now that he had it, he thought back of the first dream he had ever received at some three in the morning and how, immediately after he rushed down the stairs and into the den to type it out on the computer while it was still fresh. He knew he could not afford to forget or let slip into a waking consciousness what he had been given in that dream. Other dreams had followed as he expected and at times, he walked effortlessly around, unsure of his waking state and only half paying attention to conversations and daily menial tasks. At the same time he felt, his mind was never more sharp than now, now that the dreams had finally begun. Not for the first time, he envisioned what his tombstone would say, “Wyeth Myers, Dream Interpreter.” Abruptly, he realized he had neither the time nor the inclination to reveal any of this to anyone, yet. Wyeth was never known for his Johny-on-the-spot personality but always took longer to explain things others would cover in only a few words. He felt if understanding was to be truly mastered, it must be savored long enough to make it worth the wait and waiting he had done. Waiting for the final and full realization of which the first dream was just the, well, the first dream. His mind immediately took him back to that first day and how the dream came to him. He had come home from work more tired than his body would betray and so he thought he would retire to the bed for just a short time before dinner. As his head hit the pillow, his thoughts seemed to slowly fade into a nothingness of the sleep he knew all too well. And as he slept, he dreamed. He found himself standing on a path in a field with a clear blue stream to his left which ran paralleled to his path. He bent down and felt the water which was surprisingly warm and a little electric to his touch, though not painfully so. He began walking northward on the path when he realized there was a sound that he just realized he was hearing. He felt like it had been there all along but he had just now realized that it was an external sound from the distance with a methodical tick to it, not like a clock because the sound was more muted, bubblier than an actual second hand on a clock could be. It seemed far away, but always audible with an ever-so-slight increase as he moved forward on the path. It was somehow comforting and he wondered if it was his own self breathing, and that not for the last time. His trek continued…
